SAMUEL HAHNEMANN Founder of Homeopathy in 1790 Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine which aims to promote general health by reinforcing the body’s own natural healing capacity.

Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine which aims to promote general health by reinforcing the body’s own natural healing capacity.
Homeopathy does not have treatments for diseases, it has remedies for beings with disease. It works in a totally different way from conventional medicine.

Homeopathic remedies are derived from animal, vegetable and mineral sources. They are prepared by an accepted pharmaceutical process called potentisation which releases the therapeutic properties of the various substances used.
Our range of homeopathy has been created for both you and your animals. The remedies have been created in the correct strengths for horses dogs and small animals. Natura tube dispensers have a glass lining in order to protect the ‘energy’ of the remedy which can easily be dispensed by cutting through the tamper proof label taking off the lid and popping out three or four pillules at a time into the lid to avoid contact with your hands. Offer on an apple or carrot so that the pillules make contact with the mucous membrane, the pillules will start to dissolve on contact. Remedies are available for a wide range of conditions.

There are a number of books which are well worth a read to help you achieve a greater understanding of how you can use homeopathy for both yourselves and your animals.

How to use and care for your remedies

Homeopathic remedies are of a delicate nature so a few things to consider.

1.The homeopathic pillules should not be handled they need to go from tube directly into the mouth or on a piece of apple or carrot.

2.How many pillules at a time - usually five a six pillules will suffice.

3.Not recommended in a hard feed, ideally leave around half an hour before and after feeding.

4.Protect your remedies -store away from direct sunlight, high and low temperatures, keep remedies at room temperature out of the light not in the fridge and out of the reach of children.

5.Avoid strong aromas do not give while using any form of aromatherapy, unless supervised by your vet.

6.For humans the strong flavours of mint, coffee and tobacco will detract from the remedy.

The frequency of giving homeopathy remedies depends upon the condition it is being used for, ranging from every few minutes to two or three times a day.Sometimes a single dose may suffice. Some responses will be quicker than others. If using creams apply twice daily, or otherwise directed by your vet.

When to contact your vet

If in doubt always call your vet out to examine your horse. The more you use homeopathy the more confident you will become on how to achieve a satisfactory outcome. On calling the vet you may agree to give certain remedies while you wait for them to arrive which could prove to be invaluable. A homeopathic remedy will not interfere with any treatment your vet may subsequently administer.

Why use homeopathy?

There are many reasons to use homeopathy. These are a few of the fundamental reasons using homeopathy is a choice for many people and their animals. Homeopathic remedies have no known toxic side-effects in over 200 years of use.
Due to homeopathy’s use of minute amounts of naturally occurring healing substances, homeopathy is (and has been for over 200 years) one of the gentlest and safest healing therapies in the world today without any known toxic side-effects. Therefore it is totally safe to use for yourself and your animals, this can be particularly useful mares in foal or at foot. Likewise, with children and young animals. Homeopathy does not interfere with conventional medicine.
When competing your horse or pony or showing your dog, there is no fear of breaking the rules as regards ‘dope tests’, as performance enhancement cannot be achieved.

It is effective and cost effective.

Homeopathy strengthens overall health, which allows homeopathy the ability to be effective where other therapies may have not succeeded. When dealing with the actual health, strength and vitality of a body as opposed to symptoms an entirely different, unknown world of possibility opens up for a body’s health and wellness. In most cases homeopathic remedies work out much cheaper than manufactured drugs. However, financial considerations despite being attractive should not be the only reason to opt for homeopathy. Identified non life threatening cases such as Sweet Itch and Headshaking with horses, can sometimes take a little longer to gain a ‘result’ but over time the symptoms may well diminish all together.

Acute conditions.

Homeopathy is useful for our animals and ourselves, in acute situations with emotional upset, stress, colds, flues, accidents, etc. Many people are quite capable of using homeopathy for their animals and themselves with the basic remedies to start out with along with a good book. Since the remedies have no toxic side-effects they can be used without detriment. The only concern is using the remedies in a potentially life or limb threatening situation without also seeking help from a vet or doctor.

Emergency conditions.

There is no reason to avoid emergency medicine when needed, or the need is suspected. There are homeopathic remedies which can handle emergency situations, why not use the best of both worlds? Once the emergency is handled then the overall health could be supported amazingly well again by non-toxic homeopathy. It is not a question of one or the other here; it is more a question of when to use one, the other, or both. The preference would surely be both in an emergency.

Chronic conditions.

Homeopathy really shines where chronic conditions are concerned. Chronic conditions are ailments where we have no end to the discomfort. It either keeps occurring or coming and going, but always returning. Chronic conditions can be emotional pain, physical or disrupted performance. These kinds of conditions have underlying reasons why they persist. Homeopathy when used by a good homeopathic practitioner can potentially diminish and even entirely relieve these conditions. It usually does not matter if the condition seems to affect the body more emotionally or physically or the body’s performance. Homeopathy is holistic and truly non-medical, and does not seek to diagnose or treat a medical condition.

Medical treatment support.

Homeopathy is also effective at supporting recovery from major emergency medical care. Even if homeopathy for some reason is unable to heal a specific affliction (no therapy is 100% effective), homeopathy still has a great potential to strengthen and give better relief, more vitality and quality of life.

An end result

Medicines which only treat symptoms but don’t treat the whole body leaves the body stuck on the medications of use and consequently addicted to greater use as time goes on. Homeopathy deals with the underlying causes (why a body gets ill). In the main, once the causes are taken care of, the body can heal itself. Homeopathy increases vitality and resistance to disease and toxicity, which teaches the body to heal and resist both disease and toxicity in the long term.

Homeopathy is effective, gentle, non-toxic, non-addictive, healing, holistic and safe. For millions of people and animals world-wide.

What are Homeopathic Remedies made of?

Homeopathic remedies are extremely diverse. Many homeopathic remedies are made from amazingly common recognisable substances (red onion, salt), but some remedies are more unusual (gold, flu virus, toad). Around 80% of homeopathic remedies are made from plant sources. Quite a few remedies are also made from minerals and salts. A few remedies are made from animals and insects. The least amount of homeopathic remedies are made from disease material.

Common examples of plant remedies are:

Allium Cepa (Red Onion) Arnica Montana (Leopard’s Bane) Rhus Toxicodendron (Poison Ivy) Ignatia Amara (St. Ignatius Bean) Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort)
Fucus Vesiculosus (Sea Kelp)
Common examples of mineral and salt remedies are:
Aurum Metallicum (Gold) Natrum Muriaticum (Salt) Calcarea Carbonicum (Oyster Shell) Phosphorus (Phosphorus)
Common examples of animal and insect remedies are:
Apis Melifica (Honey Bee) Bufo Rama (Toad)
Common examples of disease remedies are:
Influenzinum (Flu Virus) Tuberculinum (Tuberculosis)

Many homeopathic remedies are common elements we know around us and a few like the disease remedies are quite uncommon. If you are alarmed or surprised by any of these substances, then just remember there is an extremely small and/or no original crude material in the remedies once they are processed.

If you are still concerned then contemplate the toxic chemicals in medicinal drugs we are prescribed and the viruses commonly given to us in vaccines. Literally, there is nothing in homeopathic remedies compared to the extreme toxicity of western medications.
